Why do I keep losing my erection?Dear Sex Doc, The last time I was getting oral sex from my partner I lost my erection. To make matters worse, this happens quite often. Why does this happen to me and what can I do to stop it from happening in the future? Flaccid Fellow Dear Flaccid Fellow; This can be a very common experience. In fact, many men also lose their erections during sexual intercourse. The brain is actually your primary sex organ so when your brain is off somewhere else or you’re worrying about your career your arousal level will decrease and that raging erection goes into hiding. This is perfectly normal. Although, pharmaceutical companies would love you to pop a pill to solve your limp ways, this is usually not necessary. The blood quickly drains from a guy's penis for a number of reasons, but most likely when they’re concerned about their penis (is it big enough? too big? what if I ejaculate?, or worse, what if I can’t ejaculate, etc.). When you are receiving oral sex, try to concentrate on the wonderful feelings and sensations. Don’t put too much pressure on yourself to perform, just relax and enjoy yourself. If you focus on the pleasure, you won't lose that erection. Best regards, Dr. Brian ParkerThis article was published on Wednesday 20 December, 2006. |
